The Delay of SSBB and it's effect on holiday sales.

With the delay of Nintendo's highly anticipated fighting game, "Super Smash Bros. Brawl", gamers are now looking towards other holiday release titles, particularly "Super Mario Galaxy" and "Zack & Wiki". According to recent polls, Mario Galaxy is now the most anticipated game among SSBB fans, with various other Wii/360 games following behind. At the end, Reggie Fils-Aime, President of Nintendo of America, states that regardless of software releases, impact on holiday hardware sales will hardly be affected.

As someone who was greatly looking forward to the release of SSBB this December 3rd, I too have chosen Super Mario Galaxy as my new holiday anticipation (because I must have something to look forward too as 2007 comes to a close!). Although I already planned on buying the game, with the delay of Brawl I am definitely going to be buying it at release. I can see why many choose Mario now, seeing as it is another big Nintendo game. I can also see why, as Reggie said, hardware sales will be hardly affected, because those who desire Super Smash Bros. the most already own Wiis themselves.
